TOCKEM USA is a solidarity-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting participatory and sustainable development for communities worldwide, fostering empowerment, inclusion, and long-term well-being.
Who We Are
Rooted in the heart of Ntsingbeu, a village in the Bafou groupement of Western Cameroon, TOCKEM — which means "mediation" in the Yemba language — was founded in 2001 by His Majesty Fô Nkemvou, Dr. Pierre-Marie METANGMO, as part of a vision of integrated and sustainable development he has carried since 1978.TOCKEM USA is the American branch of TOCKEM Tourisme & Développement, established to extend the organization's international reach, mobilize the Cameroonian diaspora, and strengthen partnerships with American donors, institutions, and volunteers — all in support of ongoing field projects in Cameroon.
Our Vision
We envision a world of solidarity and equity — where every person can become an active participant in building the common good, where societal transformations lead to environments that foster individual fulfillment, and where cultural heritage is preserved and celebrated across generations.
Our Mission
Our mission is to remove the obstacles standing between vulnerable communities and their full potential. We are committed to supporting disadvantaged populations, strengthening their autonomy, and defending their fundamental rights — so that every individual can live a full, successful, and meaningful life. Our work is built around two core approaches:integrated development and the promotion of culture through solidarity tourism.
